Studies in Manuscript Cultures
Ed. by M. Friedrich, H. Isaacson, J.B. Quenzer
The series Studies in Manuscript Cultures publishes monographs and collective volumes on manuscript research in Asia and Africa. Many cultures of Asia and Africa were manuscript cultures, some still are today. A significant amount of knowledge continues to be preserved and handed down as manuscripts. The publications of the series Studies in Manuscript Cultures give a historical and systematic overview of the manuscript cultures of the area, not only enabling the comparison with Western European book culture but also providing a new basis for the current discussion in Cultural Studies.
